Moose Madness set to invade the region
SANDPOINT — Moose Madness is coming soon to the area, offering a fun evening of entertainment while raising money for Toys for Tots.
The 5th annual Moose Madness spirit competition between Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry will take place on Thursday, Dec. 20, tipping of at 6 p.m. at Bonners Ferry High School. Per tradition, the competition rotates between schools each year, and this season the Badgers host the Bulldogs.
Crowd support is one of the main criteria in the competition, so make sure and mark your calendar for a fun, and extremely loud, evening. The Bulldogs will be looking to defend their trophy, no easy task for the visiting team.
Moose Madness is much more than just two varsity basketball games; it is a true spirit competition, incorporating many of our talented and dedicated students.
Throughout the evening both schools will display their bands, dance teams and cheerleading programs. There will be an artistic moose drawing contest, a moose call contest, as well as a stomp routine performed by students from each school. Three judges from each community will decide who will win the Moose Madness trophy at the end of the evening.
This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to teach and display sportsmanship, community pride and unite SHS students for a fun evening. Most importantly, it provides a platform for each school to raise money for charities of their choosing.
This year Sandpoint High School has chosen Toys for Tots to be the recipient of the money raised. Student Council is asking that between Dec. 10 and Dec. 20 each 2B class raise money for Toys for Tots.
Bulldog fans can help by supporting students in order to achieve a goal and support this noble charity.
Each school will only be allowed 485 tickets for students and fans. Ticket prices are $5 per ticket, with no discount for ASB or Bulldog Cards. Senior Citizens are free, but must pick up a ticket beforehand.
Tickets are available at the SHS bookkeeper’s window and at the door Thursday night if available. Doors open at 5 p.m.
