Did you cast a vote for Santa Claus?

| December 13, 2012 6:00 AM

Ho, ho, ho. Did you vote for Santa Claus? The following analogy was so brilliantly made by a national media figure and it’s very true. I felt the need to expand on it.

The election on Nov. 6, 2012, gave us two different choices for president. 1. Mitt Romney, who asked/told us that, with hard work, and by us taking personal responsibility, he could lead this nation to a better place. 2. The other choice was for Obama and that, naughty or nice, he could deliver the free stuff for everyone. It doesn’t matter the cost, you deserve it. In face, we in government, owe you. We will just get somebody else to pay for it.

The choice for clear. 1. Hard work and personal responsibility versus Santa Claus. Santa Claus won. To those who doubt this, I encourage you to go on YouTube and search Obama, phone, Ohio video and watch the 45-second video.

This is what the mentality that hard-working, responsible Americans are up against. Sixty years ago, John F. Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Obama today and the Democrat party see it the other way around. Many agree that the have it backward. The choice was clear this election — hard work and personal responsibility or Santa Claus. Santa Claus won. America lost. Elections have consequences.
