Body found in Ponderay

PONDERAY — The remains of a body were located Saturday in a wooded area north of Schweitzer Plaza Drive.

The Ponderay Police Department located the body after receiving secondhand information of a possible body being located in the woods.

With the assistance of detectives of the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, the Bonner County coroner and Northside Fire Department the remains were recovered and an autopsy will be scheduled.

The remains have not been identified at this time.

Additional information as to the possible cause of death and condition of the body are not being released at this time.
