Fairgrounds sidewalk is frivolous, unnecessary

Seriously. Why is our local government spending money on something as frivolous and unnecessary as sidewalks and landscaping with reference to upper Boyer? Streetscape? Really?
What has happened to this town and its people? Funds should be spent on the basics in these lean times. The courthouse mess is bad enough?
Why start something else when the courthouse can’t even be funded.
The sidewalk to nowhere in front of the fairgrounds is a waste of money and entering the fairgrounds with anything more than a car, a nuisance.
This is as redundant as the “option tax,” which luckily got voted down. Why should taxpayers who don’t use city services — a good example being Memorial Field — be required to pay for their improvement?
