Gun grabbers using tragedy to push laws

| December 27, 2012 6:00 AM

President Barack Obama and the gun grabbers will use the shooting in Newtown, Conn., to attempt to push more gun control laws through Congress.

The shooting in Newtown is evidence that gun control doesn’t prevent this type of violence. Adam Lanza traveled 80 miles from New Jersey to Newtown to steal guns from his mother to commit this act of violence and, when his mother tried to stop him, Adam killed her. Then Adam went to the school and started shooting. Where was school security?

Gun control laws weren’t effective in this case because it was committed with stolen firearms. I view this and other recent shootings as proof that gun control doesn’t and will not prevent this type of violence or crime in general. In most instances gun laws like most laws are enforced after the crime has been committed. In short gun control laws are for the law abiding citizen and not the criminal. The passage of additional gun control laws will not change this fact.
