Why do some feel it's OK to insult Christians?
Consider for a moment if the Bee’s political cartoon of Dec. 13 had featured the Ayatollah instead of the Pope, using the same words except substituting “#praisebetoAllah” for “#say10hailmarys.” Would the Bee have run it?
In the world of entertainment, would a Broadway musical called “The Koran” that mocked Islam the way “The Book of Mormon” denigrated Mormonism have been shown?
In the art world, would a New York exhibit have received U.S. taxpayer funding through the National Endowment for the Arts if the prophet Mohammed was depicted immersed in urine and called “Piss Mohammed,” the way the “Piss Christ” exhibit did with an image of Jesus?
If your answer is “no,” you have correctly identified the strange selectivity members of the media, art and entertainment arenas choose to publicly insult Christians.
