Spayth notches triple-double for Thunder
SANDPOINT — The Kootenai Thunder boys basektball team ran its record to 3-0 recently with a 42-26 home win over the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars.
Andrew Spayth led the Thunder with 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks, Joel Crosby added eight points and five rebounds Justin Puryear six points, Shayne Jensen and Curtis Roop four points each and Jimmy Soderberg and Tevin Perry with two apeice.
The Thunder boys then played the Immaculate Conception Academy Cristeros in non-league action at home, losing 52-50 in the final seconds.
Spayth had a monster game in defeat for the Thunder, tallying 13 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocks for the rare triple-double. Taylor Jensen, who missed the previous game with a sprained ankle, scored 12 points and pulled down eight boards.
Also scoring for the Thunder were Curtis Roop with nine points; Justin Puryear with eight points and eight rebounds, Shayne Jensen with with seven points and four assists and Tony Brown with one point.
The Thunder girls lost 41-15 to the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars at home recently. Carly Johnson scored five points and grabbed six boards to lead the Thunder, Josie Saganski added 10 rebounds, Joyce Blair five points and Taryn Osman three points and seven rebounds.
