Lockey, Dillon lead Bulldogs in 4A North wrestling split

RATHDRUM — Led by a strong showing from Matt Lockey and Peyton Dillon, the Bulldogs split a wrestling tri-match of 4A North teams on Tuesday at Lakeland High School

The Bulldogs doubled up on the Bears 54-24, then fell to the Hawks 50-33 in a preview of the upcoming district tournament.

Lockey, who continues to make big strides as the season progresses, scored a pin at 220 pounds against Moscow, then jumped up a weight class to pin his Lakeland opponent in just 24 seconds.

Dillon scored a first period pin against his Moscow opponent at 120 pounds, his normal weight, then notched a 6-1 decision over Lakeland at 126 pounds.

Josh Allen (160) also scored two wins on the night.

The Bulldogs travel south to face the Vikings in a dual on Thursday.
