Bulldogs come up short against No. 3 Trojans (late)

| February 4, 2012 6:00 AM

POST FALLS — Ryan Schwartz scored a team-high 11 points, and Sandpoint played even with No. 3 Post Falls for three quarters, but the Trojans rode a 17-7 third quarter to a 48-41 win over the Bulldogs in nonleague boys basketball Thursday night at The Arena.

The Bulldogs (7-11) had a three game win streak snapped, and are playing their best basketball of the season as the district tournament draws near. The Bulldogs have outscored 5A Lewiston and Post Falls 100-97, showing a marked improvement since a tough loss at Coeur d’Alene earlier in the season.

Seth Anderson had 18 points and eight rebounds to lead the Trojans (16-2).

The Bulldogs host Moscow today, with tip off at 3:30 p.m. at Les Rogers Court.
