Health care legislation hurts our less fortunate citizens
The American Healthcare Act, also know as “Obamacare,” discriminates against our less fortunate citizens.
Section 908 will impose an excise tax on the manufacturers of brand name drugs. If you have a type of depression or illness for which there is no suitable generic drug, you will experience an increase in price merely due to the increased cost of manufacturing the drug.
Section 4191 will impose an excise tax on medical device manufacturers. If you need an insulin pump, or a pace maker, or a portable oxygen tank, you will experience an increase in price merely due to the increased cost of manufacturing the device.
Additionally, the imposed excise taxes are likely to force U.S. manufacturers to either relocate more manufacturing overseas, or to cease manufacturing all together.
