Officials are supposed to be our servants

| February 7, 2012 6:00 AM

Egypt is refusing to allow some of our people to leave Egypt, probably preparatory to slapping some false arrest charges on them. In the meantime, though the U.S. has a $23 trillion national debt, we have been giving Egypt $1.5 billion a year. It makes you think the inmates have taken over the insane asylum.

Adding to this, we are spending more per year to arm Afghanistan than we spend on our own troops. Britain and Israel are our friends, the Afghanis are not exactly our good buddies.

It’s way past time we quit being Santa Claus to the world. Bring our troops home from South Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and Germany. Let these other countries pay for their own defense for a change.

George Washington said, “Government is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

It’s time to tell the nincompoops in Washington, “You are not God, you are not king. You are supposed to be our servants. What on earth are you thinking — or are you even thinking at all?”

My sources are former Ambassador Josh Bolton; Dick Morris, former advisor to Bill Clinton; Karl Rove, former advisor to George H. W. Bush; and other FNC news contributors.
