Warriors take down Wampus Cats in NSL hoops tilt
CLARK FORK — Greg Boudousquie stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, 13 rebounds and three assists to lead Clark Fork, but 17 second half points from Kootenai’s Graden Myhre proved the difference as the Warriors downed the Wampus Cats 57-50 Tuesday night in North Star League basketball in Clark Fork.
The game was tight right up until the end, when Myhre drilled a 3-pointer and then hit all four free throws to help the Warriors (6-10, 4-3 NSL) secure a first round bye in the upcoming 1A Division II tournament.
“Greg really stepped up and our post play was really good, we just missed some key shots,” said Cats coach Corey Vogel, calling the teams even. “Close, but no cigar, it could have gone either way. Myhre stepped up his game in the fourth.”
Stillman Berkley led the improving Wampus Cats (3-11, 2-4 NSL) with 15 points, Zach Nesbitt hit two 3-pointers and scored 12, and Axel Anderson posted five points and seven rebounds in defeat. The Cats are hoping to get another look at the Warriors in the district tournament, with a berth to state on the line.
Clark Fork hosts Lakeside tonight in a North Star League make up game game, with the JV’s tipping off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30.
