Sizzling Panthers run wild over Wampus Cats
CLARK FORK — Bryan Smith and John Simon combined for 32 points to lead the hot-shooting Panthers to a 78-36 win over Clark Fork Friday night in nonleague boys basketball in Clark Fork
The 2A Panthers (11-7) shot better than 60 percent from the field as a team, and built a commanding 45-13 lead after a torrid shooting first half, where they scored from inside and out.
Sophomore Zach Nesbitt had nine points and eight rebounds to lead the Wampus Cats (3-13), Axel Anderson added six points, seven boards and two steals, and Stillman Berkley nine points and four assists in defeat.
“Charter is a good shooting team and we didn’t step up on defense,” said Cats head coach Corey Vogel, whose team finished a busy spate of three games in four days. “Zach had one of his most complete games tonight, and Axel started playing with a purpose and fighting in the end.”
Clark Fork hosts Wallace on Saturday night during Senior night, when Greg Boudousquie and Stillman Berkley will be honored.
