Miners run past Wampus Cats

| February 14, 2012 6:00 AM

CLARK FORK — Clark Fork head coach Corey Vogel felt his team played well Monday night in a 73-40 loss to Wallace, but the Miners simply had too much speed and firepower in a North Star League tilt at Clark Fork High School.

Tthe Miners (10-9, 7-1 NSL) shot well from start to finish.

Stillman Berkley posted 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three blocks, and Greg Boudousquie added seven rebounds as the two were honored on Senior Night. Cats head coach Corey Vogel had high praise for the pair.

“When Stillman is on the floor we’re a different team. He had some full court drives through all five of the Wallace players,” said Vogel. “Greg has improved all year and he’ll be a force at districts.”

Zack Klein led the Wampus Cats (3-14, 2-6 NSL) with 16 points. Despite the score, Vogel felt his team showed improvement of late.

“If we play that way in the tournament, we’ll go to state,” said Vogel. “Wallace is just a better team than us, it’s as simple as that.”

No. 2 seed Clark Fork will host No. 3 Mullan on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. in the district tournament.
