Tort claim filed over accident

SANDPOINT — A Sagle man who was injured when a Bonner County Road & Bridge grader allegedly struck his pickup truck last year is seeking up to a half-million dollars in damages from the county.

Legal counsel for Freddie Hall filed a tort claim against the county on Feb. 9 seeking compensation for lost wages, medical costs, disability and attorney’s fees. The claim seeks up to $500,000.

The collision happened in the 5700 block of Bottle Bay Road on November 18, 2011. Hall said the grader struck his Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Bonner County, by policy, does not comment on tort claims. If the county rejects the claim, Hall would be free to seek damages from the county through a civil suit in 1st District Court.

There is no record in the Idaho Supreme Court Data Repository of a traffic citation being issued as a result of the collision.
