Take deep breath, relax and turn off the radio

Peter Heraper said in his letter (Daily Bee, Feb. 16) “...yes, ‘we’ have elected to the highest office in the land a cunning African American, if only to show others we are not racists. You both mention God, our current sly president claims that title.” Mr. Heraper has been “heraping” for years in the Bee, sometimes thoughtfully. But these comments about President Obama give credence to the view that the problem for many is that Obama is black, or perhaps worse, half-white. Mr. Heraper sounds like one more angry old white man. He, and others like him, should take a deep breath, turn off Rush Limbaugh, relax and await the Apocalypse in gentle repose. They have earned it.
