St. MARIES — After falling 46-33 to Coeur d’Alene in a game that was close until the final three minutes, the Sandpoint JV girls rebounded with a convincing 43-16 win over St. Maries on Thursday.

Emma Liband and Emily Chatburn each scored 10 and Lilly Martin added 11 in a balanced scoring effort, and Hailey Luther lead a strong defensive effort that forced 33 turnovers.

Chatburn scored 16 in the loss to the Vikings JV, part of arguably the strongest girls program in the state, and Annalisa Armbruster provided a spark with four points off the bench.

“It was an awesome effort against one of the best JV teams around,” said Bulldogs coach Chris Chatburn.

The JV girls are at Lake City on Tuesday.
