Five Bulldogs advance to semis at Clearwater Classic

LEWISTON — Five Bulldog wrestlers advanced in to the semi-finals after the first day of the Clearwater Classic wrestling tournament on Friday at Lewiston High School.

The strong effort put the Bulldogs in fourth place among 10 teams at the two-day tournament.

Josh Travers (195 pounds) won 11-7 to advance to the semis, while Matt Lockey (220) pinned his Freeman opponent in the second round to punch his ticket to the semis.

Peyton Dillon (120) scored a tech fall over his Freeman opponent in the quarters, Tanner McNelly (106) scored a first round pin over Freeman and Justin Pepperdine (182) also notched a win to round out the Bulldogs still alive in the main draw.

Damon Rodriguez (138), Adam Weindl (171) and Josh Allen (160) are still alive in the consolation round today, as the tournament wraps up in Lewiston.
