CLARK FORK — Brocklynn Thornton posted 11 points, 10 rebounds and six steals to lead Clark Fork, which fell 70-47 to Superior of Montana in nonleague girls basketball Monday night in Clark Fork.

Tessa Vogel added eight points and 10 rebounds, Dimi Kailang scored eight and Celeste Komanec dished out nine assists for the Wampus Cats (8-5), who trailed 46-22 at the break before outscoring Superior 25-24 in the second half.

“Superior was fast and athletic and we weren’t mentally ready to handle that speed,” said Cats head coach Dexter Vogel, who praised his team’s play in the second half. “We settled down and played them straight up in the second half; we played great.”

Clark Fork is at Lakeside tonight in a North Star League showdown in Plummer.
