Marie Scott's actions were insubordinate

| July 5, 2012 7:00 AM

“Three cheers for Scott”? At best Clerk Scott’s using the four-letter “F” word of refusal to her supervisors was unprofessional. Clerk Scott is from the Democrat party, much of which is made up of labor.

There is often tension between labor and management. It’s no surprise that Clerk Scott, is in a tense relationship to the county commission management we have elected (hired).

The county board of commissioners is the highest authority at the county level and it is my understanding that under existing law, the commissioners are in a supervisory position to Clerk Scott’s position (not her office personnel).

Basically, Scott says because she was elected, the commission does not have authority over her. If the clerk’s office is to be equal to the commission then there needs to be laws changed at the state level.

The issue here is, has Clerk Scott upheld her oath of office to allow the supervision of her elected office by those we have elected to that supervisory job? Secondly, if Clerk Scott feels justified in her behavior against her supervisors then why wouldn’t she have the same outbursts with us who elected and hired her supervisors?

This same thing is also happening at the national level. Even the president is rebelling against his supervisors, who are the Congress, the Constitution, the Supreme Court and lastly, the electorate.

Leave them in office for more insubordination against us or get rid of them, the choice is ours to make.
