Remember and keep the Sabbath holy

| July 12, 2012 7:00 AM

I have a short word for Jacob Farley and his recent letter of concern that our state and nation need to get back to God’s ways. Many will agree with this and also that God depends on His church leaders to teach these ways.

One of God the Father’s and Christ’s ways is found in the fourth of the Ten Commandments of Exodus, chapter 20, and says “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” Why is this not being done today? Is it not because: “Her priests have violated my law … and hid their eyes from My Sabbaths and I am profaned among them.” (Ezekiel 22:26)

How nice if everyone would keep this day holy, without trucks running and businesses and people working seven days a week? How about a quiet day for all to enjoy and declare to even unbelievers that there is a creator God and He has “blessed the seventh day and made it holy.” (Genesis 2:3 NIV)
