Sandpoint Builders relocates to downtown
“When one door closes another door opens,” Alexander Graham Bell said, and such was the case for Sandpoint Builders when they lost their lease on the Pine Street building they’ve occupied for the last dozen years.
“I see it as an opportunity now,” said owner Hal Burrows about relocating to 311 N. Second Ave. “As the economy recovers being close and adjacent to the top real estate agencies is the best place for us to offer our services and make a few more contacts.”
In business for more than 30 years, Sandpoint Builders specializes in custom home construction and remodels. Burrows said that small jobs are as interesting to tackle as large ones.
“Custom building is meeting the needs, desires and requirements of the client,” Burrows said. “Every job has a budget which is part of the design criteria. We can’t be creative without limitations. We use our experience and creativity to meet the needs of our clients.”
Burrows acknowledged that the slow economy has been a challenge but he said that he sees signs that the market is coming back.
“This area is a great place for people to retire. But not only that, young people are coming back and going to work for local businesses,” he said.
Sandpoint Builders can take a new home construction or a remodel from design to completion. “Start to finish is our business model,” Burrows said.
Burrows credited the consistent and continuing hard work of his support team for Sandpoint Builder’s success.
“Bruce Wickboldt is still the capable project manager while Keith Congleton excels as both office and account manager,” he said. “Luke Luikens is the trusted superintendent of jobs in the field where he is supported by the skills of Jake Luikens, Danny McGee and Cory McCormick.”
“Every project has taught me a life lesson,” he concluded. “That’s the result of my personal involvement with my clients. If you keep within your skills and do what you do best, you’ll not only satisfy your customers but make them life-long friends.”
