Come savor Taste of Home show

| June 1, 2012 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The famous Taste of Home Cooking Show is coming to Sandpoint this Monday.

Culinary specialist Michael Barna will show participants how to put together at least 10 summer dishes and will demonstrate some of his secrets of the trade that have made him a popular attraction at Taste of Home cooking shows around the United States in his fast-paced show.

Tickets are $10 and are still available at the Daily Bee and Yoke’s. A handful of $45 VIP tickets are still available as well. The doors at the fairgrounds open at 4:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

Local and national vendors will be on hand with exciting displays. If the show doesn’t sell out, tickets will be sold at the front door.

Yoke’s Fresh Market, Sandpoint Furniture, Sears, Trinity, A-Z Rental and the Daily Bee are co-sponsoring the event.

There will be food and wine samples available as well as food and drink to purchase for dinner.

A copy of the program will be in Saturday’s Daily Bee.

While some people attend Taste of Home shows for cooking tips and fun, others come for the tremendous gift bag and the numerous door prizes. One lucky participant will win a new stove from Sears while another will win quality furniture from Sandpoint Furniture. Local merchants have brewed up an awesome prize that they are keeping secret but would only say that the winners will have to be present.

The gift bag alone has ingredients, magazines and coupons worth more than $50.

Local residents have been asked to by Chef Michael’s assistants and Bee Publisher David Keyes is the emcee.
