Volunteers, program helping save lives

| June 10, 2012 7:00 AM

On behalf of the students and staff of Sandpoint High School, I would like to thank our community service organizations that worked together tirelessly over the past year to plan, organize, and orchestrate the most successful Mock DUI program ever.

Bonner County Sheriff, Sandpoint Police, Sandpoint Fire, Sagle Fire, Bonner General Medical staff, Life Flight, Bonner County EMS, Bonner County 911, and many other volunteers worked to ensure that the Mock DUI crash scene was a realistic and educational experience for our seniors.

It takes hours of preparation and organization to pull off such a professional and intense scenario — we acknowledge your dedication and thank you for your commitment to this program. Student feedback overwhelmingly focused on increased awareness and gratitude for our community’s support.

Clyde’s Towing, La Quinta Inn, and Lakeview Funeral Home also graciously donated services.

We want you to know that this program has already saved lives and will continue to do so. Thank you for caring for our community’s youth — you are truly appreciated and admired.
