Staff acted quickly and with compassion

| June 21, 2012 7:00 AM

My wife and I were in Sandpoint on May 17 for a few days of vacation, staying at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. The manager there referred us to Sweet Lou’s in Ponderay for dinner that night since their restaurant was closed.

We had just been seated when an emergency occurred in the next booth. It resulted in the gentleman loosing consciousness and the EMTs were called. The man regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital. The manager of the restaurant and the staff are to be commended for their quick actions and their caring attitude. When the victim’s wife tried to pay on her way out the door, following the ambulance crew, the manager quietly reassured her that their meal was taken care of and she had more important things to worry about now and she should just be with her husband.

This was our first trip to Sandpoint and it certainly seems like a great community. We also enjoyed the “Lost in the ’50s” event and would like to visit again.
