Have you learned to dance in the rain?

| June 24, 2012 7:00 AM

To “dance in the rain,” one needs several things. The main one of course, as with any dance, would be the proper partner. Then, before or as the rain begins, both must have an uplifting, forward looking attitude, well in place.

That proper attitude is the umbrella which allows the rain to flow around and past us while lubricating our path, so we have the ability to glide across life’s dance floor, as rough as it may be, without crashing into a terrible state.

Although, we may become damp from our splashing as we traverse obstacles, swirl with the tempo, come close and move apart as we adjust to the rhythm, we never become drenched.

Our togetherness dance, if we mind our steps, with proper attitude, and God’s help, will carry us back into the sunshine and the bright, blue sky of the fine, new day awaiting.

With the last rain drop dripping from our shield, a new time opens. It can be a place in time, where we will be stronger then we were when the past storm came upon us.

Many times, a good storm has the ability to wash much of the old, decayed fabric away, thus offering a fine clearing to rebuild a stronger foundation upon which we can move forward and weather any future storms that send threatening clouds over our heads.

I have learned to dance in the rain. Have you?
