Help needed to fund sprinkler system

| June 26, 2012 7:00 AM

To be honest and upfront I’m looking for help, in the form of money, to aid in the construction of a sprinkler system for the infield of the newly-renovated baseball field at Northside School.

The renovation of the field was done last summer and was the project for my 11-year-old grandson, Garrett Connolly. What was done last year came about from donations from businesses, private donations and donated material and labor from a great number of people from both in town and the Northside area.

Now without the aid of an automatic sprinkler system, it’s going to be a real chore to keep the new infield green. So far we have received grant money from the Selkirk Association of Realtors, Community Assistance League and the Lake Pend Oreille School District. We have a bid at this point but we find ourselves being about $1,000 short.

So, the long and the short of this is, if you would like to make a donation to this project, regardless of size, please feel free to contact me at 290-7448. The field is getting lots of use and is a real asset to the Northside community and the school district.. Thanking you in advance for your consideration.
