Three strikes should end political career

Lewie Rich’s pants must be on fire. At the Tea Party forum on March 15, he was asked if he had ever given himself a pay raise while in office. He flatly stated, “No.”

Here’s a fact check. In the Aug. 29, 2007, Bonner County Daily Bee article, “County budget awaiting adoption,” Lewie gave himself a $4,000 raise in 2007 and he was chairman at the time. He then gave himself another $2,000 raise in 2008. Worse yet, Lewie Rich was the only commissioner who was going to give himself a 3-percent raise in 2011. But, when word got out and he was publicly shamed, he changed his mind.

Sorry, Lewie, three strikes and you’re out — of office, hopefully.
