Sand Creek Salon set to open doors

| March 31, 2012 7:00 AM

Last summer, Melissa Petersen and Darcy Chambers got together with Kristy Reif of Sand Creek Salon to open their esthetics business.

Word of mouth has spread the news of their business, and this spring they are excited to announce that fellow esthetician, Sheryl Guidry, will be joining them. Between the three of them they have many years of experience in the field of skin care, and almost all of it here in Sandpoint.

The salon is located at 214 N. First Ave., Suite B, in downtown Sandpoint within the Sand Creek Salon. It opens Sunday.

“Individually the three of us have had our experiences as skin care therapists, but now we are happy to be together in this venture,” said Chambers.

Chamber said she started her skin care business in 1994 with the guidance of Helen Tapp, who eventually sold her the business.

“Melissa visited me as a teenager and I like to hope that she became interested in esthetics from those early visits,” Chambers said.

“Sheryl and I have been friends, too, for many years. She was a talented make-up artist with her own skin care and cosmetic company when I first met her. I always knew she would be an incredible esthetician, and I am so happy that we will be able to work together again.”

The esthetic services offered at Sand Creek Esthetics include: facials customized to each clients specific skin care needs, anti-aging facials, micro-current facials, acne treatments, facial peels, holistic facials, facial and body waxing, body treatments and more.

The three estheticians operate by individual appointments only; however, with three of them working in the space, someone will be available almost every day of the week for services.

Currently, Sand Creek Esthetics offers Dermalogica Skin Care products and Clarisonic professional facial brushes.

“Being a part of the Sand Creek Salon allows our clients to have one-stop services — get a facial, have a pedicure and get your hair cut and styled — all at one location,” Chambers said.

Working with family — Reif is Chamber’s niece — and good friends is a great fit for all everyone, she added.

The Sand Creek Salon also offers natural nail services and has four expert hair stylists with vast knowledge in cosmetology.
