Bulldogs drop doubleheader at Moscow

MOSCOW — Nik Feyen pitched seven strong innings, and the Bulldogs hammered 13 hits, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs fell 6-5 to Moscow in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday in 4A Inland Empire League baseball action in Moscow.

Sam Nitcy, Ryan Schwartz, Devin Hancock, Dan Thompson and Chase Rodriguez each had two hits in the second game, and Zac Farrell had three stolen bases, but the Bulldogs (1-12, 0-7 4A IEL) could only muster five runs in support of Feyen, who also had a base hit.

Iago Zametti, an exchange student from Brazil who is new to baseball, scored a run as a pinch runner.Nitcy had two hits, swiped four bases and scored a run in the opener, a 14-3 loss that saw Moscow score seven runs in the second and fourth inning. Schwartz, Jackson Olin, Justin Orr, B.J. Cable and Rodriguez each added a hit in defeat.

The Bulldogs host Priest River today during Senior Night, with first pitch at 3:30 p.m. at venerable War Memorial Field.
