McConnell, Currie, lead SHS golfers at Lake City Invitational

COEUR d’ALENE — David Currie shot an 83 to lead the Sandpoint golf team at the Lake City Invitational held Monday at the Coeur d’Alene Public Golf Course.

Jared Presnell carded a 90, and Kaitlyn McConnell notched her first par of the season to lead the Bulldog girls amid soaking wet conditions.

“We started in a monsoon,” said Bulldogs coach Tom Tharp, whose team has seen its share of rain. “Two-thirds of the way into the round it sprinkled, then as the kids finished the sun finally came out.”

Most area teams will be back in action on Thursday at the Sandpoint Invitational at The Elks Golf Club in Ponderay. Play starts at 9 a.m.
