We can't afford Obama's spending

| May 1, 2012 7:00 AM

John F. Kennedy once encouraged Americans to, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Now, some 52 years later, President Obama is saying just the opposite.

In an Obama nation, Americans are being encouraged to ask what their country can do for them through Medicare, Medicaid, health care, student loans, Social Security, unemployment benefits, contraceptives, etc. And Obama pledges to pay for this cornucopia of unfunded benefits by taxing the rich when he knows, full well, that taxing the rich will only bring in a few cents for every dollar he plans to spend. The rest will be borrowed, which will lead to more debt and a slower recovery.

It’s like a parent who, hoping to move in with a grown child, showers the child with gifts and intends to be moved in before the child discovers the gifts are charged to his own credit card.

Let’s make sure Obama doesn’t move back in this November.
