Ah life on the ‘ole plantation, North Idaho-style.

With a single party controlling everything in the administrative, executive, judicial and deliberative elements of government, generously aided by the Fourth Estate, policy is what the party says it is. So line up cap in hand at the polling station for a primary to chose either the same-old-thing or its nutty uncle. Life in a one-party system sure is simple: there’s no need to investigate malfeasance, incompetence or sloth when the result is no change at all.
