Forum seeks to empower women in business

SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce is honored to present the fourth annual Empowering Women In Business Conference, organized by the Women In Business Committee.

The conference will be held at the Coldwater Creek Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Everyone wants to be better than average and being better than average creates personal and career success. Join with the Sandpoint Women in Business organization for a day of inspiration, motivation, workshops and even some laughs as you find your edge to becoming better than average.

“The Women In Business Conference was created in order to provide women in our region an opportunity to gather and learn from some of the best speakers and content that we could provide,” explained Anita Aurit, committee member of the Women In Business Committee. Anita explained the conference, “allows women to have an opportunity to interact, network, socialize and learn. It’s an annual opportunity to get a full day of professional education, personal success stories and training. We are encouraging everyone to register and spend the day with us!”

Bill Jhung, Featured Speaker, is Director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center, an organization dedicated to helping businesses thrive and accelerate. He will be speaking from his expertise as a business mentor and will provide tools that will motivate, educate, and help you take your career or business to a place that is better than average.

Attendance is $55 for chamber members and $65 for non-chamber members. Included with your registration fee is a key to take the online Stand Out strengths assessment. The Stand Out program is from the Marcus Buckingham organization is the next step in the strengths finder program. With the Stand Out assessment, you will find your edge, be measured on your nine strength roles and discover your top two roles. These roles are your edge, your comparative advantage in the business world. The purpose of Stand Out is to pinpoint the actions you can take to capitalize on your edge. At this year’s conference, through the Stand Out assessment and the interactive workshops you will understand how you are perceived and received in the workplace.

Leslie Villelli, the happiness coach, will wrap up the conference with insight into being just being better than average, but how to be happy while doing it. Throughout the day, we’ll have some laughs and surprises as well as a number of raffle drawings and a fashion presentation by our host, Coldwater Creek. Attendees will receive a light breakfast, lunch and break food. Everyone will receive a gift bag including a raffle ticket for great door prizes. Many vendors will be displaying their various services, expertise, and products at the conference.
