Don't believe Luna's hype on ed reform
As a teacher, I urge you to vote no on propositions 1, 2 and 3.
Don’t be fooled by the slick marketing and rhetoric presented by Tom Luna and a minority group of millionaires with this so-called “educational reform.”
Proposition 1 is an attempt to break the Idaho Education Association. The commercials talk about “union bosses” and make it sound like the teacher’s union is run by Jimmy Hoffa. Who is the IEA? It’s your second-grade teacher, your high school advisor — teachers who now and have always put students first.
The IEA is the only organization standing in the way of big business and corporate greed hijacking Idaho tax dollars out of state and funneling it to online education providers. Teaching is more than having students read the paragraph and answer the questions at the end. Teachers care about kids and they do so much more for you children than teach them academics.
Let your voice be heard Nov. 6. Vote no on propositions 1, 2 and 3.
