Protect our heritage by passing HJR2

| November 3, 2012 7:00 AM

Idahoans have the opportunity to protect a part of their state’s heritage on Nov. 6, by voting yes on HJR2. This resolution will amend the Idaho Constitution, protecting our rights to hunt, fish, and trap. Idaho is blessed with varied natural resources. Harvest of Idaho’s abundant animal resources was a vital part of human existence, long before (and after) the white man arrived.

Today, many Idahoans continue to play an active part in nature’s works. Hunting, fishing and trapping are all vital components of modern wildlife management, and these activities can be practiced humanely and with respect for the animals harvested.

Contrary to what some say, HJR2 will not tie the hands of Idaho Fish and Game managers. If that were the case, why would the Fish and Game Commission have unanimously supported the bill?

Help preserve a rich part of Idaho’s heritage, and vote yes on HJR2.
