SANDPOINT — Today is a big day for citizens across the country — make sure you’re ready for it.

Perhaps the most important thing voters should ascertain before heading out the door is the correct polling location.

While you could always call the county clerk’s office for election information at 255-3631, the available personnel will no doubt be pressed for time throughout the day. It might be quicker for everyone involved to use some excellent online resources instead.

Idaho Votes, located at www.idahovotes.gov, is one such resource and is something of a one-stop-shop for the state’s voters. From the home page, click on the appropriate entry on the sidebar for tools to determine where your polling place is located and whether or not you’re already registered to vote.

Individuals who sent absentee ballots can also check whether or not the county received your forms.

CNN also has a helpful tool to identify polling places and view ballot summaries. Simply visit www.cnn.com/election/2012/vit/ and enter your address.
