We are in good hands with our future voters
If you are worrying about our youth, don’t. I had the opportunity to visit Sandpoint High School on Oct. 25-26 and address the young people studying all about government and the privilege and right to vote.
I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive in regards to the “reception” I might encounter. I was pleasantly surprised. These young adults (teenagers) were attentive, responsive and respectful. I had the pleasure of meeting five classes of these young people and I have to say it again — they were a delight!
I want to thank the principal, Dr. Becky Meyer, and the three government teachers Kristin Hawkins, Conor Baranski and Derek Dickinson for their interest and their kindness. It is evident that they are doing a good job because they have their students’ attention!
