LOS ANGELES — Senior forward Ben Murray was named to the second team of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference soccer team this week.

The former Bulldog, who played for Sandpoint under Randy Thoreson, earned a spot on the team for the second consecutive year after leading Occidental College in goals for the third straight year.

Murray finished the season with four goals and three assists in 16 games, tallying 11 points for Occidental, a liberal arts college in Los Angeles.

“I’m proud of his contributions to the program,” head coach Rod Lafaurie said. “He’s been the leading scorer of the program since his sophomore year. It’s a tribute for him to be recognized again as one of the conference’s top forwards.”

The Tigers finished the year 9-8 overall and 8-8 in SCIAC play.
