Kailang leads balanced Wampus Cats over Warriors
CLARK FORK — Dimi Kailang had another monster game, leading the Wampus Cats to a convincing 53-22 win over the Warriors in the North Star League Tournament opener Friday night at Clark Fork High School.
Kailang finished with 16 points, eight steals and six assists to lead the Wampus Cats, who were clicking offensively while playing shut down defense.
“We’re going to ride that (Kailang’s play) as long as we can. The all-around team play and hustle was fun to watch, and everybody was involved,” said Wampus Cats head coach Dexter Vogel. “Kootenai struggled with their turnovers. Our girls came out, played with patience and under control, and moved the ball very well.”
Tess Vogel added seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks for the balanced Wampus Cats (1-1), who also got 12 points from Mariah Miller and 14 combined points from sisters Lyndsie and Leslie Kiebert.
