Have carbon monoxide fears? Call EMS crews

More than 100 people per year die in their homes from carbon monoxide poisoning. It is a colorless, odorless gas that may be generated by any fuel burning device in or near your home. Faulty ventilation is the number one cause.

Know the symptoms and be prepared to act immediately. The symptoms include headache, nausea, confusion and nausea. When more than one person in the house has a symptom that’s a big indicator, yet carbon monoxide levels can vary greatly from one area of the house to another.

If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning, get everyone out of the house into fresh air and call 911. The fire departments have devices that can measure the amount of this gas in your home and EMS crews have devices that can measure the amount in your blood just by placing a sensor on your finger. Do not hesitate to call! We don’t sit around hoping you won’t call us, we sit around hoping that you will.
