County's soap opera continues

| October 4, 2012 7:00 AM

In our last episodes we saw the wily commissioner whine that a salary increase for only the sheriff’s office was unfair and win a salary increase for all county workers.

A property tax increase looms. Then that commissioner loses in the primary election in his bid to remain in office.

We also saw the rude and mean-spirited actions of a candidate for another commissioner’s office and still win in the primary.

Meanwhile, undisclosed sources seemed to multiply every day as the elected county officials struggled with full disclosure during the battle to create a fair and sustainable county budget.

This week’s episode includes that same commissioner resurfacing as a write-in candidate and abstaining or voting against a review of salary increases for a few county employees which would also exclude consideration of all other county workers.

Tune in for our next riveting episodes as we learn if our wily commissioner is given a position in the office of the officials who had requested exclusive salary increases and if a long-time political activist is indicted for election mail fraud.
