Let's make sure Kelly is our commissioner

| October 7, 2012 7:00 AM

The American system, as established, works well. You run for an office, there is an election, and there is a winner. It is over. But, why would the loser want to keep running? He doesn’t want to give up his job? His friends wish that he had won? He can’t acknowledge his loss? Hmmmm …

So, at an expense to the city, taxpayers and campaign committees, there is another “election?” Cary Kelly won. Louis Rich lost. Is it not over?

Cary Kelly, the retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel, naval aviator, chief of staff of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Japan and retired Lake Pend Oreille Marine Division leader, was elected as the Republican candidate for Bonner County commissioner in District 3.

His life has been one of service. He is an extraordinary man. Bonner County should be proud to have a man of this caliber offer to take on the important role of county commissioner. Let’s make sure he wins again. It’s time to get on with the business of our great community.
