Bulldog cross country team shines at home meet
SANDPOINT — Displaying its usual pack strength, the Sandpoint girls team dominated at the 3rd annual William Johnson Sandpoint Invitational on Saturday, with all seven runners claiming top 25 finishes. Of the 43 Bulldog runners competing, 25 notched a personal best, a great sign with districts looming.
Mikhaela Woodward led the way with a second place finish, followed by Sydney Foster (4th), Emily Marshall (10th), Aubrie Perry (13th), Kara Bruce (17th), Jacey Lawson (23rd) and Claire Pierce (25th). Sam Levora won the boys race, while the boys team finished fifth overall.
Bree Jones won the JV girls race with a time of 22:10, fractions of a second ahead of teammate Cori McClelland, who was second, while Loren Orr was fifth for the Bulldogs.
Andy McGinnis won the JV boys race with a time of 18:54, Grant Kennaly was second, Matt Cloud third, Hunter Price fourth, Daryl Zavala fifth and Tim Redford eighth for the Bulldogs.
