Daryl Wheeler is a proven professional

| October 11, 2012 7:00 AM

Recently, I read a letter to the editor in the Daily Bee that an individual was knocking on doors in Sandpoint telling our citizens that Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler “voted for a substantial raise for himself.” Allow me to quote Adolf Hitler in World War II: “If you tell a lie loud enough and long enough, the people will come to believe it.”

Personally, I don’t want to be deceived, especially by my sheriff whom I trust to protect me and my family.

The courts demand absolute truth and nothing but the truth and that’s exactly what I expect and am receiving from our present sheriff, Daryl Wheeler.

By the way, our elected county commissioners are the ones who establish and vote for county employee raises — not the sheriff.

When I step into the voting booth in November, I will not vote for a name that has a ring to it. I’m placing my vote next to a proven professional, Daryl Wheeler, whom I have and will continue to trust.

Sheriff Wheeler’s men and women are a reflection of his professionalism, and I thank them, and him, for their service.
