Teens injured in Lignite crash

SAGLE — Two teens were injured early Friday morning in a single vehicle crash in the 1500 block of Lignite Road.

Idaho State Police said Karl F. Hyder was northbound when he crossed over into the southbound lane and collided with a tree on the road’s shoulder.

Hyder, 19, was not wearing a seat belt, state police said.

A passenger in the Honda Civic Hyder was driving, 17-year-old Cameron A. Doney, was also injured. State police did not specify if Doney was wearing a seat belt.

Hyder was taken to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, while Doney was taken to Bonner General Hospital.

The crash happened at about 1:35 a.m.
