For city, there's always good reason for taxes

With all due respects to Helen, there will always be another “good cause” to tax ourselves for.

The council has bandied about a sports complex and redoing the downtown streets, among other things. So even if this is voted in and expires, the next council will put another issue on the ballot, then another, then … you get my drift. Besides, didn’t the water and sewer rates just go up again? No, you want to fix War Memorial Field, private donations, a surcharge on Festival tickets, etc. I have no use for the field, let those who use it pay to upgrade it. I’m sure there are a lot of other people out there who feel the same.
