Man accused of selling heroin
SANDPOINT — Bonner County sheriff’s detectives arrested three people Monday in an undercover drug sting in Samuels on Monday.
One of the suspects, Bradley Daniel Dorland, is charged with two counts of delivery of heroin. Charges were not brought Wednesday against the two other suspects, apparently because the drugs involved in Monday’s sting may not have been actual controlled substances.
Judge Barbara Buchanan sustained Dorland’s $50,000 bail and appointed a public defender to represent him, court records show.
Dorland, 20, is accused of selling heroin to an undercover detective in the parking lot of a Sandpoint grocery store on Sept. 4 and Sept. 12.
Dorland allegedly called the detective again on Monday and offered to sell him more heroin, in addition to methamphetamine.
All three suspects met with the undercover officer and a transaction was made, according to court documents.
Backup officers emerged and all three suspects were taken into custody without incident. The purported meth was tested in the field, but did not yield a positive result for the stimulant. The packet containing the purported heroin, meanwhile, held only a pebble.
