LIBBY, Mont. — The Bulldog girls demonstrated their pack strength with a dominant showing, easily winning the Libby Invitational on Friday with an outstanding score of just 25 points.

Only the top five runners count on the team score, which is arrived at by adding up the final overall places.

Mikhaela Woodward clocked a 20:21 to finish second overall, just two seconds ahead of teammate Sydney Foster, who finished third. Emily Marshall was fifth in 20:46, Claire Pierce seventh in 21:19, Jacey Lawson eighth in 21:20, Kara Bruce 12th in 21:38 and Cymbre Martin 20th in 22:20 to round out the varsity finishers.

“It was an outstanding race for the girls,” said Bulldogs head coach Matt Brass, whose girls team is loaded with depth.

Sam Levora had to pull out of the boys race with a major side ache, and the Bulldog boys didn’t have a full varsity team to begin with.

Tim Prummer led the way with a 12th place finish in 18:01, followed by Daryl Zavala and John Nicolich in 20th and 21st, each clocking a 19:05.

Freshman Treva Nostdahl finished in 23:04 to win the girls JV race.

Sandpoint is at the Coaster Cross meet at Silverwood next Saturday.
