Liberals prefer to spend others' money

| September 2, 2012 7:00 AM

Giving to charity is a simple way to make oneself feel better. Helping one’s neighbor is an obligation to a Christian and even more so I am informed for a Muslim. Our computational ability today is vastly greater than it was in our past.

By using information from census forms our nation can be divided into groups from large to small, from regions like the Pacific Northwest to states, to cities and/or counties right down to individual zip code locations. Studies have been conducted to learn more about giving to charity.

In every instance, those groups large or small that are dominated by conservatives are the most charitable. Those states, etc., that are populated by those more of a liberal bent are the least charitable. The degree of difference varies with the political distribution. In other words, the more liberal a group, the less they tend to contribute to charity. Likewise the bigger the percentage of conservatives the more generous they tend to be.

I think it obvious and so quite fair to describe liberals as those that much prefer to spend other people’s money not their own.
